For the next few months we will be highlighting the continued work of the Gospel that God is doing through a few of our CDI National Discipleship Partners. We regularly receive reports and pictures from our partners in the field. Rejoice with us at God’s work through CDI with its unique opportunities and locations for discipleship ministry around the world!

This month we highlight CDI National Discipleship Partner MA NA LING (PETER CHO) of Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar. Peter resides in Singapore with his wife SENG HKAWN (Susan). Peter obtained a Master of Theology at Asian Christian Academy (Evangelical Theological Seminary) in Bangalore, India. He has also earned his Doctorate of Ministry from Union University (pictured below) in Franklin, Tennessee.

Peter accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord on April 1, 1979 from a Buddhist background. By his own testimony he admits that he used to be against Christianity because he thought that Christianity did not have anything to do with his eternal salvation.

After obtaining his Masters Degree, he returned to Yangon to be a senior pastor of Evangelical Baptist Church, drug addict rehabilitation director and principal and co- founder of the Evangelical Bible College. In addition to starting the discipleship training in Myanmar he is translating the CDI lessons into Burmese. He is also serving in the Church of Singapore and conducting classes using the CDI lessons for new believers.

His vision is to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to Burmese workers—equipping new believers to be faithful  disciples of Christ as they return to Myanmar. Upon their return to Myanmar they will be better equipped to bring the gospel to the lost and to  lead in their respective churches. Peter plans on traveling to all the cities and towns of each State or Division to introduce CDI to the churches. A CDI training facility has been established in Myanmar at Hmawbi, Yangon, for the training and appointment of pastors from each city to further equip them for the discipleship of others in their respective regions.

Peter conducted his first training session at the training center in Hmawbi, Yangon in March, 2018. Twenty five Pastors traveled to Hmawbi from 5 areas in Myanmar. The sessions included Old and New Testament Expository Preaching, Leadership skills, Biblical counseling, Discipleship & Evangelism and Hermeneutics.

The second yearly training will be conducted November 5-10, 2018. CDI will have the opportunity to send 2 representatives to assist Peter with the training.
