Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible, and only the Bible, to be the inspired word of God, completely inerrant in its original manuscripts and the sole authority and guide for faith and practice. We believe that God has preserved His Word for every generation. (Matt. 5:18, John 10:35, 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:21, Rev. 22:18-19)

The Trinity

We believe that the only true and living God is the Triune God revealed in the Bible, eternally existing as one in essence yet three in His persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—with each possessing equally all the attributes of deity. (Deut. 6:4, Ps. 90:2, Matt. 28:19, 1 Cor. 8:6, 2 Cor. 13:14)

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the sovereign God of the universe, the Creator and Preserver of all things, who accomplishes all things ultimately for His glory. He is perfect in power, holiness, righteousness, justice and love. Having extended His grace and mercy to people by sending His Son to die in their place, He desires to have fellowship with them. (1 Chr. 29:11, Ps. 139:1-24, Is. 42:8, 43:7, John 1:12, 3:16, Eph. 1:3-9, Rom. 11:36)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, that He was born of a virgin on this earth, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death to atone for the sins of mankind, and that He arose bodily from the grave and lives today at the right hand of the Father making daily intercession for all believers. (Matt. 25:31, John 1:1-3, 18, 20:28, Rom. 9:5, Heb. 1:3, 6, 8, 9:24, Phil. 2:6- 11, Col. 1:15-20, 2 Cor. 5:21, I John 2:2, Rev. 19:11-20:6)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is the agent of the new birth and He seals and indwells every believer at the moment of conversion. We believe that the Holy Spirit fills, empowers, and distributes service gifts to believers, but that sign gifts were restricted to the Apostolic Period. (John 3:5, Eph. 1:13, Rom. 8:9, 1 Cor. 12:13, Eph. 4:11-12, 5:18, Rom. 12:6-8, 1 Cor. 12:4-11, Heb. 2:3-4, 1 Cor. 13:8-13).

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and practice and are in need of redemption and regeneration. We believe that salvation from sin is wholly by the grace of God, was purchased by the death and resurrection of Christ and is available to all men entirely apart from human merit or effort. We believe that while men are spiritually depraved and can in no way save themselves, they nevertheless have a God-given will whereby they are able to repent toward God, believe the Gospel, receive Christ and be saved. (Gen. 1-3, Is. 64:6, Jer. 17:9, John 6:44, Acts 16:31, Rom. 3:10-12, 23, 5:12-14, 8:7-8, Eph. 2:1-3, 8-9, 1 Tim. 2:4-6)

Great Commission

We believe that the Great Commission is the responsibility of all believers to preach the Gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ in all nations for the glory of God. (Matt. 28:19-20, Mk. 16:15, Rom. 10:12-17)

Return of Jesus

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ; His literal, physical reign on earth for a thousand years; the eternal punishment of unbelievers in hell; and the eternal blessings for believers in heaven. (Matt. 25:1-13, 1 Thess. 4:14-18, 1 Cor. 15:24-28, Rev. 19:11-20:15, 21-22)

Christian Discipleship International exists to empower believers as they carry out the Great Commission. (Matt. 28:19-20)
